Baishi depicts spring wisteria in full bloom, comparing their pendant blossoms with snow. He created the pink pedals by brushing pale moist gray ink on the paper to bleed softly before adding pastel color. The intertwining vines, seemingly dancing on the paper, are in the style of Wu Changshuo (1844–1927), but the two intricate horseflies are pure Qi Baishi.
