Mountain Abodes among Oak Trees

Museum No.
AK1008
栢樹山屋図 Image

Houses and oak trees are painted in cascading diagonal rows. The clusters of oak leaves are mostly depicted in ink with indigo added here and there to enhance the sense of lushness and depth. The collector Suma Yakichirō received this painting from Baishi himself when Suma returned to China with a group of Japanese parliament members in October 1954.
