Although the maker of this mirror, Tenkaichi ("First under Heaven") Isokawa, is said to have been active during the early Edo period (Hirose Tosen, 1974), the design of this mirror, which uses mainly line drawing on a flat surface, is more likely to have come from the mid-Edo period.
