This mirror by Tenkaichi ("First under Heaven") Sado has the same design and shape asEO30-27, EO30-11, EO30-4, and EO30-7, but the size of the mirror itself is larger. It was formerly believed that hand mirrors of the same length with larger mirror faces were all newer. But these mirrors, whose handle lengths are virtually the same, should be thought to have come from the same period, the only difference being the size of the mirror face. Therefore, this mirror must have come from no later than the early 17th century. Hitomi Sado, who lived at Nijô Muromachi in Kyoto around the late 17th century, is a mirror maker with the same name. His relation to Tenkaichi Sado, however, is not known.
