The celebrated Ming-dynasty literati Dong Qichang (1555-1636) was a native of Songjiang, Huating (now Jiangsu Province), who assumed the pseudonyms Xuanzai, Sibai, Siweng, and Xiangguang. He passed the civil examination in Wanli 17 (1589). This album, entitled "Letters of Dong Xiangguang," consists twenty missives written by this renowned figure.
