This is the draft of Tôkôki (E., Record of an Eastern Journey), a travel record of a journey to Edo by the court noble Karasumaru Mitsuhiro (1579-1638). It contains sketches and poems composed during his journey along the Tôkaidô road from Kyoto to Edo. Besides Tôkôki, Mitsuhiro also wrote Azuma no michi no ki, another record of a journey to Edo that he took in the sixth month of 1618 (Genna 4). It is unclear upon which journey to Edo Tôkôki was written.
