In this letter to an anonymous receiver, the tonsured prince Manshuin no Miya Ryōjo mentions the return of a handscroll previously borrowed. He also asks to borrow a new handscroll by the calligrapher Karasumaru Mitsuhiro (1579–1638), and the Taketori monogatari (Tale of the Bamboo Cutter).
