Each of these cups represents activities of one lunar month of the year. They begin with Manzai dancers for the New Year and end with snowball-rolling for the twelfth month. On the underside of each cup is a seasonal plant for that month. They were a custom order, inspired by a painting of the same subject, which is also on view.
