Beautiful autumn grasses are drawn on the black lacquered surface of the decanter usinggold hiramakie (flat-type lacquering technique) and enashiji (lacquering technique which results in a pear-skin-like texture), which is called the Kôdai-ji style. Chrysanthemums, bush clover, and silver grass extend from the ground and are placed inperfect harmony with the thin neck and round body of the decanter's form, and dew is scattered here and there. It seems to say, "Come on, let us feel the liberating air of the times back then. Why don't you have another cup of sake?
