The inlay technique, one of the characteristics of Koryo celadon, was first developed in the early 12th century and was widely employed from the late 12th through the 13th centuries. This form of oil jar, in which the body is compressed into a nearly horizontal wide shoulder, occurs from time to time in 13th-century inlaid celadon.
