The inscription tells us that this shrine depicts Amitabha Buddha with two bodhisattvas as well as apsaras playing instruments, devotees, and lions. Amitabha’s hands are in a mudra to keep away evil spirits, with the left hand on the ground. Later, Amitabha was more often shown in mudras with fingers bent to touch thumbs.
