This is the oldest extant manuscript of the earliest sections of the Nihon shoki, describing the mythical origins of Japan. It was passed down within the Urabe family, in charge of divination for the imperial court. The text and copious annotations are by Urabe Kanekata, also known for authoring a commentary on the Chronicles.
