This work put into pictures the inspirations Itô Jakuchû (1716-1899) had when he went for a boat ride on the Yodo River with the monk Daiten from Shôkoku-ji Temple. Unlike a typical print on paper, this work was done as an ink rubbing, which was yet thought to be sophisticated and modern at the time. In addition to this work, Jakuchû used the same method in his albums such as Genpo yôka and Soran chô.
