This is a diary by the priest Myôe (1173-1232), the head of Kôzan-ji Temple, in which he kept a record of his dreams. He began the diary when he was 19 years old, and continued to keep it for nearly 40 years. The topics of the dreams vary and reflect his thoughts and activities during the corresponding periods. The diary contains seven pieces of paper; some bear the dates 1207 (Ken'ei 2), 1209 (Jôgen 3), and 1211 (Kenryaku 1), while the dating of the rest remains unknown.
