Myōkaku (1056–?) was a Heian period (794–1185) Tendai monk who is credited for his research on the pronunciation of the Siddham script. He compiled his research in Siddham Studies (1098). The volumes on display were copied 8 years later and represent the oldest complete extant copies of Myōkaku’s work.
