This segment is a copy of Youposai jiejing (Skt., Upasaka Sila Sutra, J., Ubasokukaikyô), in seven fasciles. According to its postscript, Juqu Xingguo (n.d.), the second son of Juqu Mengxun (n.d.), the first ruler of the Northern Liang, commissioned Dharmasena (385-433), a priest from Central India, to translate it in the dingmao year of Xuanshi 16 (427). This raises an important question since the sutra was traditionally thought to have been translated in the bingying year (426), as recorded in the sutra catalogue, Chu sanzang jiji, compiled by Sengyou (n.d.) between the years 510 to 518. Though short, this segment is an invaluable source in textual studies.
