The stone carvings of the calligraphy for the Dongyang edition of the Dingwu Preface were excavated in Yangzhou in the early sixteenth century and came into the position of the He family of Dongyang. Despite the obvious cracks in the stones, the characters are crisp and clear. This was previously owned by erudite antiquarian Luo Zhenyu (1866–1940); its title label is by Naitō Konan.
