He Zhuo (1661-1722), whose sobriquet was Kaiqian, later Qizhan, was a native of Changzhou in the province of Jiangsu, China. He mastered the styles of Ou Yuanxiu and Zhu Suiliang and was counted one of the four master calligraphers along with Jiang Chenying (1628-99), Wang Shihong (1658-1723), and Chen Yixi (1648-1709).
