Liu Yong (1719-1804) brushed this poem, "Rising Early," by the Yuan-dynasty literati He Zhong's (1265-1332). Liu Yong was a native of Zhucheng, Shandong Province and assumed the pseudonyms Chongru, Shian, and Qingyuan. Although he showed aptitude for poetry through his study of history and Confucianism, he was extremely skilled in calligraphy. He is also remembered as an official.
