This exquisite fan painting by Hashimoto Gahō was presented to the 26th president of the United States, Theodore Roosevelt. It is thought that it made its way to the US through Okakura Tenshin (1863–1913) who was one of the participants in the negotiations for the Portsmouth Peace Treaty in 1905.
