Folding Screen with Scenes of Rice Cultivation

Museum No.
AK1677
耕作図屏風 Image

This six-fold panel screen is thought to originally have been the left part of a pair. It shows an autumnal scene of harvesting rice and the threshing of grain in the fields. This remarkable work is one of few examples in this format we know of Kano Eiryō who died in his early thirties.
