These lacquered bowls have auspicious patterns of pines, cranes, and turtles in silver makie. They seem to have been ordered in the year 1830 by the Hiromi family’s predecessors and later gifted to the newly formed Hiromi household, established in 1835. The family has preserved them ever since.
