This obi sash is hand-painted in varying tones of black and blue-black ink. Though not visible when on display, it bears the signature of well-known Kyoto painter Takeuchi Seihō (1864–1942). This obi was previously owned by the daughter of Sinologist Yoda Gakkai, who was friends with Seihō.
