This unglazed stoneware jar of reddish clay rises from its narrow base to a prominently bulging shoulder, narrowing again into a distinctively long neck. Though unverified, its wooden storage box records that it was excavated at Zenkō-ji Temple in Nagano. In any case, this jar was likely fired at Tokoname or another medieval kiln.
