This ceramic vessel with two handles is in the shape of a ding, an archaic bronze tripod cauldron. Ding were used for ritual offerings of food. This newer ceramic version is of white porcelain coated with a clear, glassy glaze. Such wares were made in the Zhang or Dehau kilns of Fujian province.
