Mirrors are often found in tombs of the Kofun-period (ca. 3rd–ca. 7th century) Japanese elite. This example has a design influenced by Han Chinese mirrors. It is called a TLV mirror for the letter-like forms surrounding the central square on its back. The other side is reflective.
