This landscape on brown-dyed paper exhibits a distinct emphasis on Western-style perspective. The artist Pu Ru was a cousin of Pu Yi, the last Qing emperor, and a leading painter in Beijing. He did this work in Taiwan, to which he fled after World War II, later becoming a professor at National Taiwan Normal University.
