Overview

Quiver with Circled “Well Rack” Crests

Museum No.
HK116

This case for arrows was worn at the waist. It resembles a quiver in the Tokyo National Museum made in the Ryūkyū Kingdom (present-day Okinawa) for a warrior family, suggesting that this work has a similar provinence, though this quiver is older. The designs of linked circles and dragons are incised and filled with gold leaf.
