This large relief tile has the image of an apsara, or celestial being, riding on clouds. She is depicted with a realistic and highly ornate style suggestive of the tastes at the end of the Tang and beginning of the Five Dynasties period. Similar relief tiles can be found at Xiuding Temple, near Anyang, Henan province.
