This Rokujikyôhô (literally "the Sutra of the Six-Letter Magic Incantation") mandala was used to ward off disaster and illness. Shaka (Skt., Sakyamuni) is depicted at the center of a large circle, surrounded by six manifestations of Kannon (Skt., Avalokitesvara). At the lower part of the mandala are depicted waves, and six celestial beings surrounding a round mirror on rock pedestal. Fudô Myôô (Skt., Acalantha) and Daiitoku Myôô (Skt., Yamantaka), who conquer evil, are depicted on rock pedestals at the left and right corners of the lower part of the mandala. Although the colors on some parts have faded, the depiction is quite detailed.
