Each of these dishes has a single brown corner and various oxen painted in cobalt blue. On their undersides, inside each footring, is inscribed “Dai Nippon Eiraku zō” (Made by Eiraku of Great Japan). Eiraku Tokuzen was the 14th generation of his family. He was patronized by such wealthy merchant families as the Kōnoike and Mitsui.
