The shapes and sizes of the various makie lacquers forming a bridal trousseau were more or less standardized. This comb cabinet differs from eighteenth-century templates; such shapes tend to date to the late 1800s. The handled mirror and mirror stand are unusual in such a set. The matched design tells us these were part of a larger trousseau.
