Han Xin (?-196 B.C.) was a worthy retainer of the first emperor of the Han dynasty (260 B.C.-A.D.220) in China. This work illustrates the story of his being insulted by a blackguard who made him crawl between his legs. "Han Xin Crawling between a Man's Legs" is a popular subject for Chinese-style paintings.
