This set shows the emperor and empress during the enthronement ceremony held in Kyoto in 1928. The emperor wears a traditional imperial garment and an imperial court cap, while the empress is dressed in a series of brightly colored layered robes. The accompanying mini kitchen is a characteristic feature of the Kyoto area since the Edo period (1615–1868).
