Gosho dolls depict plump children with oversized heads. They are typically made of wood coated with layers of gofun (a crushed shell white pigment) and often wear silk crepe bibs or kerchiefs. Many evoke scenes from the Noh theater. The broom and rake here indicate that these represent the Noh play Takasago.
