Plum branches and birds are depicted on the shoulder of this jar. Together with autumn plants, designs in underglaze blue with white blank space are typical of stoneware from the mid-Choson period (1392-1910) in Korea. This piece was probably made at one of the Geumsa-ri kilns in the Kwangju-gun district of Gyeonggi-do Province.
