The exterior and inscriptions in underglaze iron reveal that this bowl was made from clay taken in the area northwest of a temple in Yeoju-gun, Gyeonggi-do Province, Korea. It is known that there are kiln remains in the Ganam-myeon Maenggol-ri district in Yeoju-gun Province, where Punch'ong glazed stoneware used to be produced. This piece might have been produced at one of those kilns.
