Overview

Hare's Fur Tenmoku Tea Bowl in Green Glaze

Museum No.
GK230

Formerly, this bowl was considered to be related to Cizhou ware from northern China. As excavations in China have progressed, however, they have shown that bowls with the same type of green glaze were made at the Jian kilns in Fujian Province. Considering the similarity of the body, it is highly likely that this is also an example of Jian ware.
