Rakuzan and Fujina pottery are together generally called Izumo ware. Rakuzan and Fujina kilns were both sponsored by Matsue lords; artisans of Hagi ware were brought over from Yamaguchi Prefecture to establish Rakuzan pottery, and Rakuzan artisans to establish Fujina pottery. This tea bowl was probably modeled after Korean tea bowls known as Koryo ware.
