Jôraku ware is a type of Raku said to have been made around the end of the Edo period (1615-1868) at Jôraku-an, a sub-temple of Daitoku-ji in Kyoto. Inside the foot of the tea bowl, the characters, "Jôraku," have been impressed within a circular frame.
