Overview

Standing Buddha

Museum No.
CK15

This small standing Buddha has archaic characteristics including striated lines of hair (instead of snail curls), clearly defined eyes, a conspicuous moustache, and a robe draped over both shoulders. These show the strong stylistic influence of stone Buddhist statues made in in Gandhara, in modern Pakistan.
