This album consists of letters by four prominent Ming-dynasty (1368-1644) figures, including Wen Jia (1501-83) and Zhou Tianqiu (1514-95), who both excelled in painting and calligraphy and were especially known for their prowess in the clerical lishu (J., reisho) script. Wen Jia was the son of the illustrious Wen Zhengming (1470-1559) and Zhou Tianqiu (1514-95) was his pupil.
