This handscroll consists of letters handwritten by sixteen renowned calligraphers of the late Ming (1368-1644) and early Qing (1644-1911) dynasties, including Qian Qianyi (1582-1664). This handscroll is useful in gaining a general overview of calligraphy from these periods. At the end of the scroll is an inscription that was later added by a Shen Chenji, dated Qianlong 41 (1776).
