This is an early manuscript of Gôdanjô, in which Fujiwara Sanekane recorded literary conversations with Ôe Masafusa (1041-1111). The handwriting style, along with other characteristics, suggests that it was copied no later than the early Kamakura period (1185-1333). The work had been a treasure of Kyoto's Kôzan-ji Temple.
