Zhu Gui (1731-1806) is also known by the sobriquet, Shijun, and the style name, Nan'ya. He passed the official Chinese bureaucratic exam in 1748 (Qianlong 13). He studied calligraphy with Renzhong and was skilled at the clerical lishu (J., reisho) script. After Zhu Gui's death, he was given the posthumous name, Wenzheng ("Literary Righteousness").
