Huang Xing (1872-1916), formerly known as Zhen, is also known by his style name, Jingwu. Having revolutionary aspirations, he later changed his name to Xing ("rising") and took the literary name Keqiang ("powerfully triumphant"). He served as the military secretary-general for the provisional government of the Republic of China and is considered one of the three heroes of the revolution with Sun Yat-sen (1866-92) and Zhang Binglin (1868-1936).
