On each paper seam on the reverse side of this sutra, a seal reading “Nakatomi no Tera” is found. Based on the scripture’s writing style, it is thought that the sutra was copied in the eighth century. The Shōgozō of the Shōsō-in Repository holds 20 scrolls of the Mahīsasaka Vinaya also bearing Nakatomi seals.
