These are manuscripts of Ishiyama Engi Ekotoba (E., The Origins of Ishiyama-dera Temple), Volumes One, Two, and Three. Although the work is attributed to Kôshu, the abbot of Ishiyama-dera Temple, this has not yet been confirmed. Kôshu was the son of Tôin Kintaka (1291-1360). The contents of these manuscripts are exactly the same as those of picture scrolls (J., emakimono) from the temple, serving as an important source of information for the study of the origins of Ishiyama-dera Temple.
