Records of Births into the Pure Land (Ch., Wangsheng xifang jingtu ruiying shan zhuan; J., Ôjô saihô jôdo zuiô sanden) was compiled by Wenshen (n.d.) and Shaokang (d. 805) of the Tang dynasty (618-907) and introduced to Japan in Ten'en 2 (974) by Nichien, a Japanese priest who had studied in China. The colophon indicates that this scripture was copied from a copy by the priest Gen'en dated Chôjô 3 (1123). It is the oldest extant edition of this scripture after the text dated 1143 from Hôju-in Temple on Mount Kôya.
