Shengshanzhuyi tianzi shisuowen jing (Sutra of the Bodhisattva Shanzhuyi; J., Seizenjui tenshi shômonkyô), is a variant sutra of the Shanzuiyi tianzu chapter from the Great Treasure Store of Sutras (Ch., Dabao ji jing; J., Daihôshakkyô), volume 36, translated by Vimoksaprajnarsi (Ch., Pimuzhixian; J., Bimokuchisen) and Gotamaprajnaruci (Ch., Banzangliuzi; J., Hannyarushi) during the Northern Wei dynasty (386-535). The red seal of Jingo-ji Temple in the lower portion at the beginning of the sutra (lower right corner) indicates that this was part of the entire Buddhist cannon (J., issaikyô) owned by the Shingon temple, Jingo-ji. The calligrapher Tanaka Kaidô mentions this set in Nihon shakyô sôkan (Compendium of Copied Sutras in Japan, 1953): “Mount Takao [Jingo-ji] has two sets of the entire Buddhist cannon, one is Emperor Goshirakawa’s (1127-92) sutras copied in gold ink on indigo paper, the other is a sutra written in black ink.”
